Polyamide-based flame-retardant thermoplastic compositions and their application to the covering of electrical cables

A thermoplastic compsn. comprises: (A) a matrix of polyamide; (B) a dispersed phase of at least partially crosslinked polyolefin; and (C) fire retardant agents distributed in the two phases and being such that the variation in breaking strength and the variation in elongation at rupture after 24 hrs. immersion in ASTM No. 2 oil at 100 degrees C. are each less than 25%. The prepn. of the compsn. is also claimed.
