Dynamo illumination for bicycle

An integral bicycle lighting unit is attached to the front end of the front mud-guard and supported by a forked strut, so that a spring-loaded roller may contact the surface of the tyre in order that sufficient electrical energy is generated during use to provide forwards illumination for the rider. Similarly, a rear light may also be provided. The compact lighting unit (125) consists of a dynamo (102) and a front light (103) attached to the front end of the front mud-guard (112). A telescopically-adjustable forked strut (101') is attached to the lower end of the front forks (105) and rigidly supports the light unit. The dynamo roller is on an arm which is sprung to maintain contact with the tyre, or may be raised free, when not required.
