BALL-AND-SOCKET JOINT

The ball joint comprises a ring shoulder (4a) which works in conjunction with the upper side of the housing (1). The ring shoulder is formed on a ring (4) which is joined to the bearing shell (3). The ring is permanently attached to the bearing shell. The ring is welded to the bearing shell, pref. by using an ultrasonic welding process. The bearing shell is formed with an axially projecting ring shaped elongation (3d) and the ring has a correspondingly shaped reception groove (4b).
