Pressure regulating cover, especially for closing the opening in a cooling water circuit of a motor vehicle

The cap incorporates a pressure valve with its body (44) movable relative to the body (24) of the cap and equipped with a pressure membrane (70) which is held against a seat inside the neck (12) covered by the cap by means of an inner spring (53). The valve body is held together with the cap body (24) by a series of radial retaining lugs (50) which engage with a thrust shoulder on the cap. The body of the cap is moulded in one piece from plastics material and has a lateral skirt (26) made with a series of radial fins (36) for centring the cap when it is fitted to the neck. The colour of the plastics can be used to indicate the pressure to which the valve is set.
