PURPOSE: To eliminate a part which is projected toward an engine side so as to provide a compact installing structure of an electrical equipment for an outboard motor by installing the electrical equipment through a boss part, on a cover for sealing a recessed part which constitutes a cooling water jacket. CONSTITUTION: In a vertical type multiple cylinder engine 3 in an outboard motor, a projection part 40a is formed on the side part of an engine block 40, reciprocating passages 60, 61 for a cooling water passage positioned on the circumference of an exhaust passage 66 are provided on the projection part 40a. Namely, the reciprocating passages 60, 61 are constituted in such a way that a cover 65 is installed on the recessed parts 63, 64 formed on the projection part 40a. A boss part 73 is formed on the cover 65, and an electrical equipment 75 made of an rectifier and a regulator is installed on the boss part 73 through a bolt. The electrical equipment 75 is formed such that its vertical width is nearly equal to that of the cover 65, and a plurality of fins 77... are formed on the upper and lower surfaces so as to improve cooling property and strength by those fins 77. |
