This process is based on the use of articulated beams 2 consisting of two or more modules 3 which can be rotated with respect to one another in such a manner that the beams 2 can be shaped, adopting a certain curvature, and stiffened as required in each specific case in which they are used, which process comprises the following operations: a) bringing an articulated beam 2 closer to the old beam 1, from underneath, in such a manner that they come into contact; b) subjecting the old beam 1 to one or more pretensioning forces FP, FP' directed upwards; and, c) once the stiffened articulated beam 2 has been anchored, removing the pretensioning forces FP, FP', with the result that the old beam 1 is permanently subjected to an upward force FV which is the result of the elastic reaction of the stiffening articulated beam 2.
