<p>PURPOSE: To extend the service life by relaxing the stress concentration at the pickup surface of a paper feed roller so as to prevent the damage of the paper feed roller, to prevent an erroneous pickup by stabilizing the abutting pressure between the paper feed roller and a sheet member to be fed, and to feed the sheet member stably and at a high reliability. CONSTITUTION: In a paper feed roller 1 which consists of an elastic member composed of a circular arc surface 2 abutting to a sheet member, and a flat surface 3 not abutting to the sheet member, in the external form, a pickup surface 4 as the end of the circular arc surface 2 abutting to the sheet member at first in the paper feeding operation is supported on a polyurethane sponge 6 (a material with a high elasticity).</p> |
