PURPOSE: To prevent the burning and embody a high production efficiency by supplying a specific rolling oil on the surface of a work roll in the state as it is, preiminarily rolling a stainless steel sheet, forming a coating film on the surface of the work and rolling the stainless steel sheet using that work roll. CONSTITUTION: In the case of a rolling oil contg. a compound expressed by a formula I, the forming effect of the coating film is insufficient when the addition is <0.1%, on the other hand, the peripheral equipment of a rolling mill is corroded when the addition is over 10%, so 0.1-1.0% compound is added. Where, the R1 and R2 in the formula I represent alkyl groups. By directly supplying the rolling oil contg. such a compound by emulsionizing it with water or as original oil on the surface of the work roll and preliminarily rolling the stainless steel sheet, the coating film is uniformly formed on the surface of the work roll and the causing of burning is prevented at the time of cold-rolling the stainless steel sheet, so rolling speed is remarkably increased. |
