PURPOSE: To make it possible to efficiently transmit information at a high speed and to widen an application range by setting the refractive index of sheaths lower than the refractive indices of coated fibers, bundling plural pieces of individual optical fibers having a specific diameter to form a bundle cable and fixing this cable in such a manner that the positional relation of the optical fibers in the terminal parts at both ends thereof is made nearly symmetrical. CONSTITUTION: The bundle cable is composed by determining the relation in which the refractive index of the sheaths is lower by >=0.01 to <=0.04 than the refractive index of the coated fibers, setting the diameter of the individual optical fibers at <=300μm and bundling 7 to 100 pieces of the optical fibers. These optical fibers are so fixed that the positional relation of the optical fibers in the terminal parts at both ends thereof is made nearly symmetrical. The nearly symmetrical relation suffices if the optical fibers having the light intensity distribution of the light source on the incident side strong in the central part are held at the detector side exit end as well. Namely, the relation described above is satisfactory if the central part at the incident face exists in the central part on the exit surface and the peripheral part at the incident surface exists in the peripheral part of the exit surface.
