PURPOSE: To efficiently separate gas from liquid by bending the upper parts of back plates upper than the plates of an anode chamber frame and a cathode chamber frame respectively outward to an inverted U shape and arranging U-shaped trough members in a manner as to form passages with the back plates therein, thereby constituting chambers for sepn. of gas from liquid. CONSTITUTION: The upper parts of the back plates 5, 3a upper than the plates 6, 3b of the anode chamber frame 2 and the cathode chamber frame 3 are respectively bent outward to the inverted U shape and the U-shaped trough members 10 are arranged therein. The chambers 11 for sepn. of gas from liquid are composed of outside frames 9 and the trough members 10. The passages 12 and spacings 14 of the flow mixed with the gaseous flow phase are formed between the inner parts 10a of the trough members 10 and the inner parts 9a of the outside frames 9. The trough members 10 are internally provided with holding members 15 having holes 16 here and there. The flow mixture composed of the gas and liquid rises by a siphon phenomenon in the narrow passages 12 constituted in such a manner and is admitted from an inlet 14 into the gaseous phase chambers 17 of the chambers 11 for sepn. of gas from liquid and further, the liquid phase of the mixed flow enters the lower liquid phase chambers 18 via the holes 16. As a result, the sepn. of the gaseous phase and the liquid phase is rapidly effected. |
