PURPOSE: To obtain a back light having high luminance is small as far as possible in the outer size and having good visibility by disposing a light-reflecting material in a part near the reflector and a light-diffusing sheet on the exit side of a light guide plate in such a manner that the reflecting plane of the material is on the guide plate side. CONSTITUTION: A light-reflecting material 7 is disposed with the reflecting plane adjacent to the light guide plate 1 in at least a part of the area on the exit face of the light guide plate 1 near the light reflector 5 and a light-diffusing sheet 2. If the reflecting material 7 is a mirror reflecting plate or sheet, it consists of silver, aluminum or platinum, and preferably, the material is obtd. by coating a plastic film substrate such as polyester or metal plate with silver or aluminum by vapor deposition or sputtering. If the light-reflecting material is a light-diffusing and reflecting plate or sheet, it consists of a polyester resin or the like with a light-diffusing material mixed or a foamed polyester resin or the like to have light-diffusing property. |
