PURPOSE: To provide a data recording medium which excels in data erasability. CONSTITUTION: A protective thin film layer is formed in a polycarbonate substrate, a recording layer is formed by spin-coating a solution obtained by mixing poly (3-butylthiophene), bistriethylsiloxy-tetradecylthionaphthalocyanine and toluene, a gold thin film is formed as a reflective layer, and a protective layer is formed. Continuous light of a semiconductor laser is applied to a disk which is obtained this way from the substrate side, the association condition of pigments in the recording layer is changed, and then the disk is heated at a temperature (100 deg.C) higher than the glars transition point of the poly(3- butylthiophene) and than cooled left at room temperature. Thus the data erasability of the data recording medium which performs recording by changing the association condition of pigments in an organic polymer with heat or light enery can be improved and thereby the data recording medium like an erasable CD with the favorable recording and erasure characteristics can be provided. |
