MODEL IMAGE DATA REGISTERING DEVICE FOR IMAGE PROCESSOR

摘要

PURPOSE: To automatically register plural pieces of model image data to be used for recognizing or inspecting characters. CONSTITUTION: Gray-level image data provided by picking up the images of plural models (English letters) are converted to binary image data. An operator designates any one window so that all the plural models can be included. The model images are extracted by performing labelling processing to the binary image data inside this window. Concerning a rectangle surrounding the model images provided by the labelling processing, the rectangle larger than a circumscribed rectangle just for the prescribed number of picture elements is decided as a registration area. The registration area can be coincident with the circumscribed rectangle as well. The binary image data inside the registration area are registered on a model memory 25 as the model image data.
