PURPOSE: To make it possible to uniformly inject a medicine into blood vessel without damaging the inside wall and tissues of the blood vessel by forming at least a part of the outside surface of the catheter of a porous layer. CONSTITUTION: This balloon catheter 1 is composed of a catheter tube consisting of an inside tube 2 and an outside tube 3 and a balloon 4. This balloon 4 has an approximately uniform-diameter cylindrical part 4a in such a manner that the constricted part of the blood vessel is easily expanded. The balloon surface has fine holes 13 for dosing the medicine and the surface of the fine holes 13 is covered with the porous layer 12. A pressure is applied to inflate the balloon 4 in the state of keeping the fine holes 13 smaller when expanding the constricted part of the blood vessel and the medicine is released into the blood vessel via the porous layer 12 from the balloon surface by enlarging the fine holes 13 by a pressure when dosing the medicine to the constricted part of the blood vessel. |
