PURPOSE: To further reduce the data quantity and to accurately keep generation of wave forms when wave form data obtained by encoding the difference value of a wave form amplitude value is stored. CONSTITUTION: The wave form reading device is provided with a waveform memory 101 for storing wave form data compressed by a difference compression index floating point method, an integrated wave form value corresponding to the lead part of a loop range and an integrated index value as generated information, an address generator 102 for repeatedly specifying the wave form data within the loop range of the wave form memory 101 and an integration interpolation circuit 103 for inputting the wave form data and the generated information read from the wave form memory 101 according to the specification of the address generator, decoding the wave form data based on a loop signal, an integrated value step signal and an interpolation decimal part data and generating a musical sound wave form from the decoded wave form data. |
