<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller the error signal of which can be used for disabling an actuator so as to eliminate, for example, power support from a steering device. SOLUTION: A controller is composed of such a controller that controls the actuator 9 of a vehicle steering device supported by electric power. Such unstable circuits as first and second cascade-connected integrators 13, 14, and 19-24 have outputs connected to a detector 35 which outputs an error when the inputs of the unstable circuits 13, 14, and 19-24 connected to the controller 4 and the output signals of the circuits 13, 14, and 19-24 exceed tolerances. During normal operation, the controller 4 supplies signals to the unstable circuits 13, 14, and 19-24 so that the output signals of the circuits 13, 14, and 19-24 do not exceed the tolerances. The error signal outputted from the detector 35 can be used for, for example, disabling the actuator 9 so as to eliminate power support from the steering device.</p> |
