PURPOSE: To decrease the light leakage by discrination and to make an opening rate as large as possible. CONSTITUTION: An arrow of a dotted line indicates the orientation direction of a lower oriented film and an arrow of a solid line indicates the orientation of an upper oriented film. The light leakage of about Y value 12 occurs in a region apart about 0.5d (where (d) is the spacing between both oriented films) inward from the right side of a pixel electrode 34, the light leakage of about Y value 10 occurs in a region apart about 0.3d inward from the left side of the pixel electrode 34, the light leakage of about Y value 28 occurs in the region apart about 0.8d inward from the lower side of the pixel electrode 34 and the light leakage of about Y value 28 occurs in the region apart about 0.6d inward from the upper side of the pixel electrode 34 under certain conditions in the case of the orientation state shown in (A). Light shielding films are, thereupon, so formed as to cover the regions where such light leakage occurs. |
