摘要 PURPOSE: To improve on-vehicle performance and reduce system cost owing to simplification of system constitution by eliminating a sensor for detecting sprung and unsprung relative speed. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle suspension device is provided with a shock absorber (b) which can change damping force characteristics by a damping force characteristic change means (a), a speed change means (d) which finds a sprung up/ down speed from a sprung up/down behavior signal detected by a sprung up/ down behavior detection means (c), a relative speed detection means (e) for detecting sprung and unsprung relative speed, a control signal formation means (f) which finds a control signal from a sprung up/down speed signal and a sprung and unsprung relative speed signal, and a damping force characteristics control means (g) for controlling damping characteristics of the respective shock absorbers (b) based on the control signal. The relative speed detection means (e) is so formed as to find a sprung and unsprung relative speed from the sprung up/down behavior signal detected by the sprung up/down behavior detection means (c) based on a prescribed transmission function.
