PURPOSE: To attain high speed address of picture display of television by adding an operation successively continuously displaying addressing pixel lines on plural display electrode pairs corresponding to electrode pairs and an operation simultaneously displaying and maintaining a pixel group on all display addressed display electrode pairs. CONSTITUTION: All cells of a panel are activated by synthesis electrolysis of pulses PX1, PY1 making all electrodes of X1-X4, Y1-Y4 a pair at the timing P, and after they are maintaingly discharged plural times at the timing S1 and stabilized, only the cells not to be displayed at the timing R of which erase addresses are scanned by the pulses A1-A4, etc., on a selection electrode and the pulses B1-B4, etc., on the other side display electrode Y related to all cells. Then, after erase address scanning has ended for all lines, the non-ignition of the display cell becomes perfect when a pause interval of several microseconds is placed, and the high speed address of the picture display of the television is attained. |
