PURPOSE: To prevent the breakdown of a power system and improve the stability of the power system, even when power fluctuations are generated by the variations of loads. CONSTITUTION: In a drive controller of an AC excitation synchronous machine S, load angle computing circuits 106, 111, 118, 122 for sensing the load angles of generating stations A, B, C and a load 119 wherewith the AC excitation synchronous machine S is connected via transmission lines 1, and a system- stabilizing-drive command circuit 23 for issuing based on the load angles sensed by the load angle computing circuits such a command that the load angles are controlled in a system stabilizing direction are provided respectively. Based on the command generated from the circuit 23, the drive controller so restricts the power of the AC excitation synchronous machine S that the load angles are made small by q-axis controls. |
