PROCESS FOR POLYMERIZING OLEFIN

PURPOSE: To provide a process for polymerizing an olefin whereby anα-olefin polymer having a sharp molecular weight distribution and a high molecular weight (having a sharp molecular weight distribution and a sharp compositional distribution when a co-polymer of at least twoα-lefins is produced) can easily be obtained. CONSTITUTION: An olefin is polymerized or olefins are copolymerized in the presence of a catalyst comprising a premix [A] of trans tion metal compound of group IVB in the periodic table with an aluminoxane [B] and an organoaluminum compound having hydrocarbon groups except n-alkyl groups under conditions in which the concentration of the aluminoxane [B] in the reaction system is 3mg.atom/l or below.
