The fastening comprises two elastic rods (2,2') with their ends attached to front and rear members (5,6) equipped with locking catches for the boot sole and heel, and with central sections designed to engage with recesses in the sides of a central member (1). The elastic rods have regulating elements (7,8) which can be adjusted along their length to vary the effort required to disengage the rods from the central member's side recesses. The rods (2,2') are made from spring steel or a composition material such as carbon fibre, and their diameter depends on their requirements, e.g. being greater for an adult's foot fastening than for a child's.
