The invention concerns an absorbent disposable protector to be fitted in shoes, especially in ladies' shoes, and provided with tape and tape protector. The object of the invention is to make available an absorbent protector which absorbs transpiration moisture and prevents chafed feet. The protector comprises a main part 1 in the shape of the sole of a shoe and edge flaps 2u, 2s; 2k connected to the main part on each side of the main part and/or in the toe part and/or in the heel part, which edge flaps can be released along lines of weakening 3u, 3s; 3k which follow the contours of the main part. The edge flaps are joined to the main part only along a relatively short distance and continue as suitably shaped tongues, preferably in both directions, so that the edge flaps secured on the inside of the upper of the shoe cover essentially the whole edge area delimited by the sole part of the shoe. The protector is made of an absorbent material with a soft surface, for example a cellulose fibre material. <IMAGE>
