MANUFACTURE OF PLASTIC SUBSTRATE FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT

PURPOSE: To flatten a surface with high accuracy by laminating a plastic substrate on the surface of a prototype substrate processed into the state of transferring the surface through a resin material, curing the resin material and then releasing the plastic substrate from the prototype substrate together with the resin material. CONSTITUTION: A plastic substrate 2 is laminated on the upper face of a glass substrate 1 with its surface processed to be flat or into a recessed and projected shape as a liquid crystal substrate through an ultraviolet curing resin 3. Ultraviolet rays are emitted by an ultraviolet lamp 5, and the ultraviolet curing resin 3 is cured to form a surface coated layer. After curing, the plastic substrate 2 is released from the glass substrate 1 together with the surface coated layer. Thus the plastic substrate with its surface processed to be flat or into the recessed and projected shape perfectly same as the glass substrate 1.
