The apparatus consists of two bodies which are insulated from one another in terms of fluid transmission: one which acts as turbine 1 and another which acts as a centrifugal pump 2. The process consists in circulating a fluid, in closed circuit, through the body of the apparatus which acts as turbine 1, transmitting the energy received to the body which acts as pump 2, via the common shaft, in such a manner that, when the apparatus is placed within a liquid, it allows the liquid to be pumped as if it were a submersible pump, without cavitation problems arising. The liquid which is moved in closed circuit is pumped by a conventional pump 3, located on the outside, it being possible for this to be at a height over the liquid which is greater than that which would give rise to cavitation if it were to pump the liquid directly. <IMAGE>
