PURPOSE: To obtain a failure diagnostic system for rotating machine in which the extent of failure can be determined accurately. CONSTITUTION: Detection signals from an oscillation detector 2, a sound pressure detector 3, a temperature detector 4, a flow rate detector 5, a lift detector 6, and a rotation detector 7 are fed to a neurocomputer 8 where patterns corresponding to various operating conditions of a rotating machine 1 are recognized based on pattern identification values delivered from the output layer depending on the signals being fed to the input layer from the oscillation detector 2, the sound pressure detector 3, the temperature detector 4, the flow rate detector 5, the lift detector 6, and the rotation detector 7. A decision is then made in which of normal, slight failure or serious failure state the rotating machine 1 is operating and the pattern identification value is presented on a display 9 together with the state of the rotating machine 1. |
