PURPOSE: To make it possible to realize explanation of solution along with the understanding of respective learners by forming the explanation by applying the solution which is one of solutions for questions correctly answered by the learners in the past and is most similar to the solution to be explained, in the case of explaining the solution to the learners. CONSTITUTION: Whether the answer made by the learner obtd. by an answer input means 102 is correct or not, is diagnosed by an answer diagnosing means 103. The correctly answered question is stored in a learned question storage file 104 if the diagnosis is correct answer. The result of the diagnosis is displayed for the learner by a display means 110. The question is selected by a selecting means 105 in the case of incorrect answer. The degree of similarity of the selected question and the learned question of the learned question storage file 104 is calculated by a degree of similarity calculating means 106. The learned question most similar to the question selected by a selecting means 105 is determined from the learned questions of the file 104 in accordance with the degree of similarity. The question to be applied in formation of the explanation of the answer is selected by an applied question selecting means 107. The explanation of the solution is formed by an explanation forming means 109 and is displayed by the display means 110.
