PURPOSE: To provide a cathode capable of delaying start timing of decreasing brightness, in a DC type gas discharge panel of pulse memory drive system. CONSTITUTION: A lower layer electrode 12 is formed of 42-6 alloy, and an upper layer electrode 14 is formed as an Ni plating layer coating the lower layer electrode 12, to constitute a cathode 10 of these layer/upper layer electrodes 12, 14. Surface roughness of the upper layer electrode 14 is set to 0.5μm or more 10μm or less, further to set a grain size of plating particulates of constituting the upper layer electrode 14 to 0.5μm or more 10μm or less. |
