PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the effect of air resistance on the performance of an actuator by providing axial groove holes extending over the length of an armature sleeve and communicating air between upper and lower sides of the armature through these groove holes, in an exhaust gas circulating valve. SOLUTION: In an exhaust gas circulating valve 10 comprising a base assembly 14, a valve assembly 16, an actuator assembly 18, and a pintle position sensor assembly 20, the actuator assembly 18 is formed by providing an electromagnetic solenoid having a magnetic circuit comprising magnetic pole pieces 118 and 134 and an air gap 148 separating the magnetic pole pieces 118 and 134 from the armature 146. In this case, the air gap 148 is formed of a sleeve member 150 made of non-magnetic material and having an axially extending groove hole. Thus, when the armature 146 moves in axial direction air flow is allowed from a space 156 over the armature to a space 158 under the armature through the groove hole. |
