PURPOSE: To improve the utilizing efficiency of a memory and to efficiently make use of function provided in a system. CONSTITUTION: In a sound source device 100 provided with a ROM 102 previously storing waveform data, a RAM 103 storing new waveform data and acoustic data for adding an acoustic effect and a sound source integrated circuit 104 in which a musical tone reproducing device for reproducing the waveform of the musical tone and an effect device for adding an acoustic effect to the waveform of musical tone are housed and a terminal is used in common with these devices, CPU 101 controls the musical tone reproducing device and the timing with which the musical tone reproducing device makes access to the ROM 102 or the RAM 103, monitors the utilizing state of RAM 103 and changes the magnitude of areas of the musical tone reproducing device and RAM 103 assigned to the musical tone reproducing device according to the utilizing state. |
