<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently provide a method for detecting the inclination of a document page against the reference direction in scanning with a scanner. SOLUTION: An image point denoting the inclination of the page against the reference direction is selected by analysis connecting component. The configuration of degree distribution on a parameter space is performed by mapping plural points selected on the parameter space by using Hock conversion method utilizing the equation about the line containing the line inclination parameter (θ) expressing the line inclination and the second parameter (ρ). Presence of the peak of the degree distribution of line inclination is discriminated by analysis of the result of the step for mapping the plural selected points, and the angle showing the peak is defined as the inclination of the page. The processing speed is increased since no two-dimensional array is required in such discrimination.</p> |
