PURPOSE: To confirm a target car readily for a driver. CONSTITUTION: Laser light is emitted toward a target car in the forward direction of own car and receives the laser light reflected from the target car. Thus, the distance between own car and the target car is detected, and the speed of own car is controlled. A visual field image 51 in the forward direction of own car is displayed on a display through an image pickup device. Furthermore, a target mark 53 is displayed together with a display image 52 of the target car in the visual field image 51 on the display.
