In an LCD screen with a liq. crystal film (160) which is interposed between a transparent front plate (100) and a reflective plate (110) and to certain points of which voltage is supplied by a voltage application system (120,140), the novelty is that the liq. crystals are dispersed in a polymer. Also claimed are: (i) a process for forming the back plate of the above LCD screen; and (ii) a process for mfg. the above LCD screen, pref. involving coating the electrode-bearing faces (102) of the front and back plates (100,110) with a polyimide layer.
