PURPOSE: To efficiently manufacture a larger display device in a simple way and obtain a more inexpensive display body by providing a color design display layer on one face of one substrate and a colored layer on one face of the other substrate for such a light scattering liquid crystal device that a light adjusting layer held between the substrates contains liquid crystal material and transparent solid material. CONSTITUTION: A light scattering liquid crystal device has a transparent electrode layer where a light adjusting layer containing liquid crystal material and transparent solid material is held between two transparent substrates. A color design display layer is provided on one face of one substrate and a colored layer is provided on one face of the other substrate. The color design display layer and the colored layer are directly printed on the substrates used for the light scattering liquid crystal device with a printing technique. Otherwise, the color design display layer and the colored layer which are printed on non- colored or colored substrates with light transmissivity such as acrylic plates, polycarbonate plates, plastic plates or these films are arranged. |
