PURPOSE: To improve the access speed at the time of reading image data by storing pixels of respective blocks obtained by dividing image data in a memory as the same page respectively and generating the address position of the stored data. CONSTITUTION: The image data are divided into the rectangular blocks and stored in the DRAM 32 so that the pixels in each block are in the same page. When a plotting command is inputted from a host to a polygon plotting engine 31 through a bus 34 in this state, the plotting engine 31 analyzes the plotting command, and sends out the dot positions of the original image to an address generator 35 in coordinate form so as to sequentially scan and access the image data stored in the DRAM 32 when texture mapping is required. The address generator 35 generates addresses and when the DRAM 32 is accessed, pixel information in the corresponding addresses is read out and sent out to a palette 36 and a selector 37. Consequently, the image data can be read fast. |
