The hinged wiper arm (10,12) is driven at the axis (A2) by the link (14) working around the parallel axis (A1). The slave arm (15) is mounted to the bodywork, swinging on the axis (A3) which need not be not parallel to, and linked to the beam (12) at the axis (A4). There are flexible joints at both ends of the arm (15), or the arm itself may flex. The wiper arm is hinged at the axis (X=X), to keep the blade, attached at (17), in contact with the screen.
