PURPOSE: To enhance the accuracy of a simple resolver having no rotor winding by setting a specific relationship between the number of stator slots, the number of rotor slots and the number of poles of exciting winding and output winding. CONSTITUTION: Slots 10a are made at a constant interval over the entire inner circumference of the stator. A single phase exciting winding having the number of poles 2P1 and a two-phase output winding having the number of poles 2P2 are placed in the slot while being distributed. Slots 11a are made at a constant interval over the entire outer circumference of the rotor. The number of slots Z1 of the stator and the number of slots Z2 of the rotor are selected to satisfy any one of following relationships; |Z1 -Z2 |=|P1 -P2 |, |Z1 --Z2 |=P1 +P2 . With such structure, a sine wave or cosine wave signal substantially containing no harmonic component can be obtained for the movement of the rotor by one slot pitch, thus realizing a highly accurate inexpensive resolver. |
