SURROUNDING SOUND SYSTEM AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To upgrade a computer system that has a stereo sound function into a system which performs recording and reproduction of a surround sound channel. SOLUTION: A surround sound channel is recorded or reproduced by using a different audio card. The different audio card controls different speaker and microphone which are added to the system. Software which redirects instructions from an existing stereo application program and sends the instructions to an existing audio device driver and a different audio device driver is offered. Also, a means which extracts a surround sound channel from two-channel data that is given from an application or encodes two sets of two-channel audio data which are recorded on two audio cards 8 and 9 is included.
