CONTROLLER FOR SERIES CAPACITOR

PURPOSE: To obtain a controller for series capacitor in which disturbance of power is suppressed quickly while avoiding the generating conditions of SSR or preventing the torsional vibration component of shaft from increasing. CONSTITUTION: The controller for series capacitor comprises means 8 calculating a control amount for suppressing the disturbance of power based on an electric amount inputted from a system to determine the number of series capacitors being inserted, and means 10 for conditioning a control signal based on a control signal received from the power disturbance suppressing means 8 to avoid the number of stages for inserting series capacitor at which low frequency resonance is expected to take place and spread. The controller further comprises means 9 generating a signal for opening or closing a switch based on an output signal from the resonance avoiding means 10 and delivering signals to a plurality of switches.
