<p>PURPOSE: To improve the detection precision of switch operation which is done over an oblique look at a display while maintaining the operability at the time of a look from the front by equipping the input device with a switch display means and a reaction area setting means. CONSTITUTION: A main ECU 30 sets the reaction area of a switch displayed on the display 10a according to the shape of the switch, and the ON/OFF state of the corresponding switch is determined by detecting a touch on a reaction point in the reaction area. Then a touch on a meaningless reaction point can be regarded as a touch on a reaction point nearby it. In case of a vehicle, a driver is ordinarily an operator and it is effective to enlarge the reaction area not to all circumferential directions, but only in a specific direction. For example, when intervals of display switches are relatively wide, the reaction area to be enlarged is widened corresponding to the intervals. Thus, the enlargement quantity of the reaction area is determined according to the intervals of the display switches to detect switch operation more effectively.</p> |
