The system, comprises a support (10) which can be displaced in the space between loading and unloading zones. A lower fork (12), fixed on the support, comes into the loading zone between and under the upper strands (3a) of the conveyor (2). An upper fork (13), whose branches (13a) are located above the branches (12a) of the lower fork, has its body (16) guided vertically in the support. A drive (17) displaces the upper fork between an upper rest position and a lower clamping position. In this position its branches clamp the slices carried by the conveyor against the branches of the lower fork. The spacing of the lower and upper forks branches (12a,13a) is less than 10% of the mean width of the slices. |
