In order to silence noise in a hydraulic braking system having a vehicle-stability regulating system which operates according to the return principle in order to regulate anti-lock bracking and comprises a self-priming return pump (13) for regulating drive slip, said return pump being connected by a first suction line (11) to the low-pressure reservoir (10) and by a second suction line (14) to the brakepipe (4), the invention proposes the provision of a relief valve (22) between the low-pressure reservoir (10) and the second suction line (14). This relief valve (22) is in the form of a non-return valve and allows pressurized medium to flow from the low-pressure reservoir (10) to the master cylinder (1) when the latter is unpressurized. As a result thereof and of two separate pressurized medium connections in the low-pressure reservoir (10), the pressurized medium, which is let out of the wheel brake (7) under high pressure, is firstly collected by the low-pressure reservoir (10) before being discharged under low pressure to the master cylinder (1) via the relief valve (22). Therefore the separating valve (5) does not require a special arrangement which, in braking systems known hitherto, leads to pressure waves and noises. |
