The supply system has respective travel wires (1,3) for the main rail track (2) and the branch track (4) at switching points. The travel wire for the branch track is raised into an inoperative position when the points are in the straight ahead position. It is lowered to bring it to the same height as the travel wire for the main track when the points are switched into the branch track position. Pref. the operating device for raising and lowering the branch track travel wire is directly coupled to the points switching mechanism and controls the height of the branch track travel wire via the suspension mechanism for the latter.
