In a method and arrangements for monitoring the function of a microprocessor, test points are provided in a program for the microprocessor. When the program is running correctly, it passes through the test points within predefined time intervals, and at these test points, predefined data is output by the microprocessor. The data which is output each time a test point is reached is compared to stored data by a test device.
