<p>A PTFE fiber having remarkably improved heat-fusibility, a cotton-like PTFE article capable of giving a nonwoven fabric by thermal bonding and methods for their production, and methods for production of split yarns, monofilaments and multifilaments having loops and/or a branched structure. A layer consisting of a heat-fusible resin is disposed on the surface of a PTFE fiber. After a PTFE film and a heat-fusible resin film are laminated, uniaxial stretching is effected at a temperature between the melting points of these films.</p> |
