The invention relates to an apparatus for producing a low-temperature, liquid gas flow under pressure, with an insulated pressure vessel (1) and a pressure-generating device, consisting of an electric heater (3) for vaporising the liquid gas and a pressure-gas space (7) provided above the level of the liquid gas and accommodating the gas. In order to permit a rapid and energy-saving pressure build-up, the apparatus is characterised in that the heater (3) is arranged in an insulated receptacle (4) inside the pressure vessel (1); in that the receptacle (4) extends from the liquid gas (5) up to the pressure-gas space (7), provided above the level of the liquid, of the insulated vessel (1); in that the receptacle (4) has an opening (6) which is arranged inside the liquid gas (5); and in that the receptacle (4) has an opening (24) which is arranged inside the pressure-gas space (7).
