The mulch is contained in a storage container (4) placed on a self-propelled vehicle (1) formed by the chassis of a caterpillar tracked vehicle or by a tractor (2) and single or multiple axled trailer (3). A mechanical ejector (16) on the vehicle has a chimney-type outlet (17). A transporting device (6) conveys the mulch to a dispenser (11) which feeds a preset amount to the ejector. The tractor and trailer are connected by a tow-bar (22), and by a coupling bar (23) which can be connected to the drive-shaft of the tractor drive mechanism, and with at least one rotary part leading to the distributor on the trailer. The storage container has a trough or box-shaped housing (5) open at the top, with at least one further opening (7) leading to the conveyor.
