The invention concerns an electric toothbrush having a toothbrush shaft (2) driven by an electric motor (4) via a gear unit (24) which is held rigid with the housing in a mounting (1) via a shaft (17) extending transversely to the toothbrush shaft (2). In order to render the toothbrush as shockproof as possible, the shaft (17) is resiliently mounted on opposite sides in the longitudinal direction of the toothbrush shaft (2). |
