An implant (10) in the shape of a pillar, with threaded blind hole is mounted in the jaw bone of the patient. The implant (10) or at least the screw (16) is made from titanium. The shaft section (22) of the screw has a reduced dia. which is slightly less than the core dia. of the thread. The length of the threaded section is between 1.00 and 2.00 mm. pref. 1.60 mm. The pitch is between 0.2 and 0.6 mm. pref. 0.4 mm. The shaft has a dia. between 1.00 and 2.00 mm. pref. 1.50 mm. The length of the unthreaded shaft (22) is longer than the max. length of the thread. The height of the head is between 1.00 and 3.00 mm., pref. 1.50 mm.
