The camshaft mfg. method includes the steps of producing at least one cam surface (30a) with a profile matching a parabolic convex surface contg. part of an imaginary elliptical cylinder. The cam surface contains a defined rolling path for a curved roller movable relative to the cam surface, whereby the rolling path is cut with a cutting stone mounted on a rotation shaft. The rotation shaft is arranged perpendicular to the camshaft (30) and a step in which one end surface of the cutting stone (40) is moved relative to the rolling path of the cam surface (30a).
